Learning outcomes

Upon completion of these courses, the participants will be able to:

discuss the advantages/disadvantages of diagnosticmusculoskeletal ultrasound
recognize the ultrasonographic appearance of various(ab)normal tissues of the musculoskeletal system
have an overview on ultrasonographic examination of theshoulder, elbow, wrist/hand,  knee and ankle/foot (pathologies)
discuss the advantages/disadvantages of interventionalultrasound
recognize the ultrasonographic appearance/localization of various nerves and muscles of the upper/lower limbs
have an overview on specific interventions (e.g. spine)

During the two days;

the participants will be studyingsonographic examination of the six joints in the Basic side. They will be dealing with pathologies and interventions of theupper/lower limb joints, nerves and muscles in the Advancedside. Further, participants will also be listening to state-of-the-art lectures on innervation zone targeting (in spasticity), diagnosing sarcopenia and spine imaging/interventions in theAdvanced side.  

In both courses, the program comprises hands-on practicalsessions as well as theoretical teaching. Of note, allparticipants (6-7 per machine) will have the chance to workunder the supervision of several experienced instructorsduring the practical sessions.

Upon completion of the two days

those who have attended all (theoretical and practical) sessions will have the right to enter the evaluation as described below
the 1st part will comprise 25 multiple-choice questions (3 points each
the 2nd part will be practical whereby each participant willbe expected toappropriatelydemonstrate five structures(5 points each)
those who score 70 or more will be considered successful
subjects will be required to score at least 50% of the total score from each part e.g. getting a score of 75 from thewritten part will not let the subjectwaivethe practicalpart
