Cerebral palsy (CP) is a lifelong condition that primarily affects movement and function [1]. People with CP commonly experience associated conditions including sensory impairment, intellectual disability and epilepsy [1]. They also experience complications such as pain and fatigue [2], and have a higher risk of developing chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and depression [3]. People with CP are frequent users of medical and rehabilitation services and they are specifically prone to their healthcare needs (HCN) being unmet [4]. We define HCN as the presence of healthcare needs for which people do not or cannot receive quality healthcare [5]. This may lead to poor health outcomes, high spending, and productivity loss to individuals and society. Despite the valuable input of identifying unmet HCN in the improvement of health services, information on unmet HCN need is mostly available from high income countries.
