Individuals living with acquired brain injury (ABI) and their families often face significant challenges during rehabilitation and beyond, with many experiencing fragmented care and a lack of coordinated support.
Critical issues and opportunities in rehabilitation have been identified in African countries. Significant gaps exist in rehabilitation services, with at least 63% of people in need not receiving the required care This workshop will explore an innovative partnership between a neurorehabilitation ward in secondary care and a brain injury charity, which has led to the co-development of a rehabilitation pathway designed to improve patient outcomes and provide holistic support for families. Case study discussions showcasing real-world impacts on patients and families will be shared.
