Maria Gabriella Ceravolo, MD, PhD, Neurologist and Physiatrist, is Full Professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy.
She heads the Neurorehabilitation Clinic, an intensive rehabilitation facility at the University Hospital in Ancona.
Current Chair of the Education Committee of ISPRM and Past President of the UEMS PRM European Board, she has given a substantial contribution to the development of the European training requirements for post-graduate PRM education, also playing a role in the development of the ISPRM Core curriculum for post-graduate and undergraduate PRM education.
Her main research interests concern the assessment, prognosis and rehabilitation of motor and cognitive impairment in subjects with brain diseases, with a special focus on neurodegenerative disorders.
She contributed to drafting the WHO Package of Intervention for Rehabilitation for people with Parkinson’s disease and is Chair of the SISC for Parkinson’s disease within the European Society of PRM.
Her recent studies concern the feasibility and effectiveness of technology-aided rehabilitation and the health needs of people with COVID-19.
Her interest in EBM and research methodology has led her to collaborate with the recently launched Cochrane Rehabilitation Functioning and Disability Thematic Group as Chair of a Unit.
