Dr. Larry Robinson

Dr. Larry Robinson recently finished serving a 10-year terms as Professor and Department Division Director, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Toronto. He was based at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where he served as Program Chief at St. John’s Rehab. He also held the John and Sally Eaton Chair in Rehabilitation Sciences and served as President of the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Larry has published extensively on rehabilitation and electrodiagnosis with >230 publications in peer-reviewed literature. He has recently served as chief examiner for the EMG section of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology. He developed a method for diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome known as the Combined Sensory Index (Robinson Index). In 2017 he received the lifetime achievement award from the American Association of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine (AANEM). He will serve as chair of the 2026 International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Congress in Vancouver, B.C.

He currently serves as an Electrodiagnostic Medicine Consultant at Rebalance MD in Victoria, British Colombia. He will serve as chair of the 2026 International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Congress in Vancouver, B.C.
