Short Description
This session, “Building an African Rehabilitation Alliance: Amplifying Voices for Change,” tackles the critical need for a cohesive and influential voice advocating for improved rehabilitation services, training, and workforce development throughout Africa. In line with the ISPRM Congress theme, “Global Solutions in Rehabilitation: (Re)visiting Africa Before 2030,” the session acknowledges that lasting progress hinges on robust regional leadership and collaborative efforts. Participants will explore the feasibility of establishing an African Rehabilitation Alliance, drawing inspiration from the World Rehabilitation Alliance.
This potential alliance would serve as a powerful advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities and functioning difficulties requiring rehabilitation across the continent. The session will facilitate discussions among key African rehabilitation stakeholders, including professionals, policymakers, and representatives of disability organizations.
