Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and wildfires, as well as human-made disasters like civil wars, result in a high burden of traumatic injuries, including spinal cord injuries (SCI), brain injuries, amputations, fractures, and peripheral nerve injuries. The immediate aftermath of these events requires a coordinated approach to rehabilitation that extends from emergency response to long-term recovery. This workshop will explore the challenges and solutions in disaster rehabilitation by analyzing four major disaster events: the 2005 Pakistan Earthquake, Bangladesh Floods, 2024 California Wildfires, and the Sudan Civil War Crisis.
